So one day me my dad and Kalee were watching Lord of The Rings while alix and my mom were gone, Nikki was asleep and Colin just didn’t want to leave the room. After a few attempts we gave up on trying to get him out and it was getting late so we preceded to watch The Fellowship of the Ring. He didn’t seem to be phased by it and of course I LOVE that movie, but then the dark riders cam on screen. He came up to us and he said “Those guys are scary, what are they?” We told him that they weren’t scary and that he didn’t have to be scared of them. We told him that they were “silly guys”, he seemed dissatisfied with this answer and said “no they’re not!! They’re on horses!!” So we settled on calling them “silly guys on horses” and it stuck and we watched the rest of the movie without him getting scared (Of course he didn’t watch the WHOLE thing). It made me think, when does God tell us that the enemy is just a silly guy on a horse? When the problems we face are overwhelmingly scary, He reduces them to silly guys on horses and helps us through.
Live long and prosper, Tori Lynn.
