Junk food (part 2) Gathering Fuel for the Journey

1 Thessalonians 4:3 God’s will is for you to be holy, so stay away from all sexual sin.

“Do you know where that toothbrush has been?” ~ Ed

Hebrews 10:32-39

Think back on those early days when you first learned about Christ. Remember how you remained faithful even though it meant terrible suffering. Sometimes you were exposed to public ridicule and were beaten, and sometimes you helped others who were suffering the same things.  You suffered along with those who were thrown into jail, and when all you owned was taken from you, you accepted it with joy. You knew there were better things waiting for you that will last forever. So do not throw away this confident trust in the Lord. Remember the great reward it brings you! Patient endurance is what you need now, so that you will continue to do God’s will. Then you will receive all that he has promised. “For in just a little while, the Coming One will come and not delay. And my righteous ones will live by faith. But I will take no pleasure in anyone who turns away.” But we are not like those who turn away from God to their own destruction. We are the faithful ones, whose souls will be saved.

It’s not going to be easy committing to a life of purity, “When the light goes on, the fight goes on.”

Growth –> Change –> Conflict –> Growth –> Change –> Conflict –> Growth –> Change –> Conflict –> ect…

The cycle never ends!

1. We must have courage.

Courage- not machismo, but the ability to stick to a previously made decision without quitting or backing up.

-to stand on our conviction

Courage is not the absence of fear. Courage is doing the right thing in the face of fear.

2. We must have Endurance

Endurance- The ability to bear up under difficult circumstances with a fortitude that actively resists defeat.

God is not the God of a second chance. God is the God of ANOTHER chance.

“Do not want what someone else got unless you’re willing to pay the price they paid.” ~ Brian Houston

3. We must have urgency

Urgency- the brevity of time + the depravity of man = boldness & shamelessness

So this was the message Ed Ainsworth gave us Wednesday night, but after that something special happened, he had an alter call as a commitment of living in God’s will sexually and then re-committments and salvations, it was absolutely amazing. Never discount that sentence “When the light goes on, the fight goes on”. Be ready, Satan is gonna try to do all he can to get you out of the will of God. Do’t let him win, he’l do all he can to mess with your life if you let him.

Live long and prosper, Tori.
