Walk it out summary

Psalms 37:4 Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires and secret petitions of your heart ❤

So Pastor Tammy did a message series a while back called “walk it out” about the condition of your heart and walking in love. Well some of you don’t go to 24/7 so you didn’t hear it, or maybe you just need to hear it again :).

The love chapter

1. Nothing without love

1 Corinthians 13:1-3 1If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.

You could do anything, ANYTHING! but without love, it means absolutely nothing.

2. Flavor of love

1 Corinthians 13:4-7  4Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Your enemy will do anything he can to keep you in your past, thats one of his biggest tools!

You know how people say the more time you spend with some the more you think like them? Well, the more time you spend with Him the more you think like Him.

3. Grow up!

1 Corinthians 13:8-12 8Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. 11When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. 12Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

4. It’s all about love

1 Corinthians 13:13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

Trust God, hope, and love extravagantly

Pt 2 Sticks and stones

You know the old saying “sicks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me”? That is the biggest lie you’ll ever hear! Words hurt, allot.

James 3:5-6 5Likewise the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark. 6The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole person, sets the whole course of his life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell.

1.Don’t have a razor tongue!!!!!

Words are so powerful that God used them to create the earth.

2.Potty train your mouth

You know, when kids are being potty trained, they use the potty most the time, but then the might mess up, don’t mess up your emotional diaper!

Matthew 12:34-37 34You brood of vipers, how can you who are evil say anything good? For out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks. 35The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in him. 36But I tell you that men will have to give account on the day of judgment for every careless word they have spoken. 37For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned.”

An apolagy is more than just “I’m sorry”, it’s repayment.

3. Sweet words

If you can’t say something nice, keep your mouth shut!!!!!!!

pt 3 The other cheek

2John 1:5-6 5And now, dear lady, I am not writing you a new command but one we have had from the beginning. I ask that we love one another. 6And this is love: that we walk in obedience to his commands. As you have heard from the beginning, his command is that you walk in love.

1 No buts

Matthew 5:39-42 39But I tell you, Do not resist an evil person. If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also. 40And if someone wants to sue you and take your tunic, let him have your cloak as well. 41If someone forces you to go one mile, go with him two miles. 42Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you.

Just because someone doesn’t walk in love with you doesn’t give you the excuse to do the same thing to them. Why would you get down to their level? We should be different!

2 Hurt people hurt people

Matthew 5:43-45 43“You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ 44But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.”

Haters will be quicker to stop once they realize they don’t bother you

3 Own it

Take responsibility to the way you react to the situation.

Matthew 5:46-48 46If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? 47And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? 48Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

Grow up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

#1 thing you need to learn SSSSHHHHHH!!!!

Shut our mouth!

Stay calm and handle your emotions, your brain isn’t fully developed till your 25, but your emotions are. So it’s gonna be harder to think first.

Stay calm, they might not have meant what they said, put yourself in their position first, look past it. Your flesh is selfish and it wants to say “but,”

We’re supposed to be different than the rest of the world.

pt 4 What if?

What if you always walked in love?

1 Home life

James 3:5-6

How different would your life be if you chose to walk in love with your family?

Words can create or destroy ANYTHING.

What would your mood be like? How would you feel about yourself? What would your family say about you?

2 School

What if you always walked in love with your friends all the time?

Everything can be said in love if you can figure out the different way to say it.

What would life be like if you turned the other cheek and didn’t let them have power in your life?

Anybody God has put into authority (even if they are an idiot) your supposed to walk in love, all the time.

Matthew 5:39-42

3. Church

What if everyone walked in love? What if there was no drama?

Romans 14:18-19 because anyone who serves Christ in this way is pleasing to God and approved by men. Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification.

What could you have avoided???

Now I’m not perfect, nobody is, and don’t even think that I have all this nailed down, I’m still working on it. But think about those questions, what would it be like…?

Live long and prosper, Tori.
